RealGear (RG): Introduce yourself
MJ: Mike Jones
RG: Which game(s) are you streaming?
MJ: Fallout 4. GTA, Call of Duty, Skyrim… loads of variety really
RG: Give us 3 facts about yourself you would like your fans to know.
MJ: I’m deaf, love graffiti, and obviously gaming
RG: Streaming is a fun yet challenging job. How did you decide to start streaming?
MJ: Was bored one day and decided to stream to twitch from the ps4 and then looked into a better option and it just went from.there really
RG: What is the one piece of advice you wish someone gave you when you started streaming?
MJ: Don’t expect it to be instant it takes time to build a following
RG: Tell us about your gaming rig – CPU, GPU, PSU, Memory, Video Card, Motherboard, Monitor, etc 🙂
MJ: At the moment, it consists of my PS4 and Xbox One, my Elgato HD60, a 6 year old Intel i3 laptop (need to build my pc) my 21″ Samsung monitor for my chat, and my 24″ Asus monitor for my games. Nothing flashy but it just about works.
RG: Tell us about the peripherals you use – Mouse, Keyboard, Headphones/mic, Headset, Mouse Pad
RG: Which is the next hardware part you consider upgrading? Which is the next peripheral you plan to change with a newer/ more versatile/ more powerful one?
MJ: My next hardware part is definitely building my pc (I build as a extra job yet to build my own rig though)
RG: Which, in your opinion, is the piece of hardware no self-respecting gamer would compromise on?
MJ: The correct processor for the computer
RG: Which, in your opinion, are the must-have peripherals for a novice streamer on a budget?
MJ: A mic. You don’t have to spend a lot on a decent mic, it’s just knowing your products
RG: Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting your streaming channel today?
MJ: Start with my personal pc ready to go as my laptop isn’t ideal bit budgets and bills come first
RG: A final word of advice to our readers?
MJ: Be yourself. No one will want to watch a copy of another streamer. Don’t play the oversaturated games. Your channel will get lost in the pile. And make sure you interact with your chat or talk about things. No one wants to come into a channel and get ignored, so talk like there are people there even if there aren’t. And also be consistent with the stream schedule.
