Bluehole Team Fixes PUBG’s Bulletproof Water and Other Key Issues

Members of the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds community have repeatedly voiced their concerns over players who use the bulletproof water to avoid death. It seems Bluehole has taken their complaints into account.

Members of the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds community have repeatedly voiced their concerns over players who use the bulletproof water to avoid death. It seems Bluehole has taken their complaints into account. The Esports Program Manager for PUBG, Amir ‘am1rtv’ Khair took the matter to Reddit and explained that the tyrannical reign of the bulletproof water is approaching its end.

Bluehole has recently implemented some changes in the update schedule and players were less than amused by the announcement. Khair’s update comes to confirm that the Bluehole team is actively working towards paving PUBG’s way to release later this year.

Khair published a comprehensive list of fixes and reassured the PUBG players that they will be addressed soon.

One of the issues he mentioned was namely the bulletproof water. The latter is arguably one of the problems requiring Bluehole’s urgent attention. The number of players using the bulletproof water to hide and stay safe from gunfire is rapidly growing. Consequently, those who do not use this tactic urged Bluehole to take adequate actions in that direction.

The other fixes Bluehole’s representative mentioned include ballistic updates for weapons, bullet travel and drop enhancements, removal of certain weapons from crates, as well as a grenade system overhaul. Khair said that the developer was going to rework the entire system to ensure better responsiveness and more accurate grenade landings.

PUBG players also got a confirmation that the “crouch jump” bug will soon be removed. This is an issue many players are eager to see resolved as soon as possible. What is more, the change will be accompanied by the much-anticipated vaulting and climbing system.

Khair’s announcement made it clear that Bluehole has a lot on its plate right now. Still, he emphasized that even more changes were on the way but refused to go into details.

Here is the list of updates Amir ‘am1rtv’ Khair has published.

  • Grenade Overhaul
  • Reworking the entire system to enable more responsiveness

-more accurate draw of where the grenade will land

-more versatility with the grenades in terms of how far they can be thrown as the new system will take into account velocity of the person moving and the motion that the player is making

  • Removing the crouch jump bug
  • Removing certain weapons (tommy gun) from crates and reworking them to fit the world better
  • UI improvements
  • Optimization and client side performance increase
  • Vaulting
  • New map
  • Ballistics update for weapons

-Includes better weapon physics

-improved bullet travel

-improved bullet drop

-Bullet penetration (water, wood, different textures etc)

  • Various other server side optimizations, client side consistency optimizations[smokes], etc etc

And a multitude of other things that I cannot comment on right now – and this doesn’t include fixing existing bugs and reported issues
