Activision announced that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be launched for PS4 on Tuesday, June 27th. Its price is set at $39.99. The game features the 16 multiplayer maps and the same story campaign of the original game, released in the distant 2017. However, the new version comes with enhanced visual effects.
For the time being, the developer declines to specify a release date for game’s PC or Xbox One launch. Still, fans have a confirmation that the remastered version will get PC and Xbox One compatibility at some point in the future.
It is important to note that the $40 standalone version of Modern Warfare does not include the variety map pack. The latter is sold separately at the price of $15. The price caused mix feelings of discontent and surprise. Call of Duty fans were quick to define the upcoming version as “bloody expensive”.
Despite the fact that some players are unhappy with the price, expectations are the new standalone title to be a huge success. The reason is that the new release will attract players interested in relieving the Crew Expendable, All Ghillied Up, and Charlie Don’t Surf.
Brian Raffel, the studio head of Raven Software, commented on the upcoming release. He said that the team behind the Modern Warfare Remastered has scrutinized every small detail to make sure players get premium-quality visuals and remastered audio.
To commemorate the launch, Activision organized the Call of Duty “Days of Summer” event. The latter will kick off along with the Modern Warfare Remastered release on June 27th. It will include XP events, giveaways, gear, and new playlists across various Call of Duty titles. A summer-themed map for the Modern Warfare Remastered will also be available.
