Soon after the announcement about the NVIDIA-themed keyboard and the Devastator 3 combo, the computer hardware manufacturer Cooler Master shed light on the upcoming release of two new keyboards. The MasterKeys S PBT and the MasterKeys L PBT keyboards will be available at major online retailers no later than the end of June.
Both keyboards feature Cherry MX Switches, on-the-fly customization options and PBT keycaps. The MasterKeys S is a tenkeyless keyboard, while the MasterKeys L comes with a numpad.
In a press release, published on company’s site, Cooler Master elaborates that the products from the MasterKeys line are intended to provide users with superior typing experience, durability, accuracy, and impressive tactile feedback. Both keyboards are designed to be suitable for casual users and gamers. Especially for e-sports enthusiasts, Cooler Master has added a pack of extra red keycaps, hinting at keyboards’ gaming capabilities. The on-the-fly customization options allow users to switch layouts and use the on-the-fly key shortcuts without installing additional software.
Most products from the MasterKeys series feature LED lights and ABS keycaps. However, the L and S versions do not have lights. Essentially, the PBT is a pricey plastic that possesses excellent wear and tear-resistant capabilities. The PBT keycaps durability is attributed to their fiber reinforced, double laser-etched, injection molded nature. In addition, the PBT keycaps are solvent-resistant.
The MasterKeys S PBT and the MasterKeys L PBT keyboards are promoted as suitable for gamers and heavy typists. The Cherry MX switches ensure 50 million keystrokes. The price of the tenkeyless S version is around $110; the L version will cost $120.
Cooler Master seems to be actively working towards unleashing new gaming-oriented peripherals. The company is predominantly focused on crafting mechanical keyboards despite the fact that some big gaming brands have already condemned the mechanical keyboards as outdated and unsuitable for gaming.
