A few hours ago, Ed Boon, the creative director of Injustice 2, posted a tweet hinting at the possibility of Cyrax arrival. The picture shows wiring, and yellow armor with black shading, which made players presume that this is a picture of Cyrax from behind.

Cyrax is a robotic assassin that was first introduced in Mortal Kombat 3. It has quickly become one of the players’ favorite playable characters. The tweet made players second-guess whether it indicates his potential return.
However, the cryptic tweet can also mean nothing. Players who keep an eye on Ed Boon’s tweets remind that he has a habit of teasing the Injustice 2 communities and the teasers often mean nothing.
During the Comic-Con event, held in San Diego last week, Boon said that the Story Mode of Injustice 2 might get some additions. Although no official announcement has been made so far, players remain hopeful that Cyrax may be a part of the next DLC pack.
NetherRealm used the Comic-Con 2017 to reveal that Starfire will be the next playable character coming to Injustice 2 roster. The developer follows a strict schedule when it comes to character releases. Injustice 2 was released in the middle of May. A month later, the Red Hood has arrived. The Sub-Zero joined the roster in the middle of July. Therefore, Starfire is expected to launch across all platforms in the middle of August.
The frequent release of fresh content is well-accepted by players. For the time being, they can only assume that Cyrax is under development, but it will take some time until he becomes a part of the Injustice 2 roster.
Stay tuned and expect the RealGear team to inform you if the NetherRealm Studio representatives confirm Cyrax’s future arrival.
