Two of the highly anticipated Bethesda titles- The Evil Within 2, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be compatible with the upcoming Xbox One X console. That became clear when Bethesda updated The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein II pages to indicate the two games will support the new console. The Xbox store also updated its listing and added the two Bethesda titles to the list of games, supporting 4K Ultra HD visuals. Having said that, it remains uncertain how the two games will run on the Xbox One X console.

The 4K Ultra HD feature is listed in games’ descriptions, but the definition of 4K Ultra HD is a bit vague. It can mean either a native 4K support or a dynamic checkerboarding 4K support, available at the PS4 Pro. It is still unknown which of the two options the games’ developers would settle for.

The Evil Within game played at 30fps. Fortunately, the developer took care of the weird aspect ratio. As for Wolfenstein: the New Order, it supported 60fps and dynamic resolution. According to previous Microsoft announcements, the Xbox One X will be “the most powerful console ever made”. Nevertheless, people with knowledge of the matter find it difficult to figure out how the two games would support a native 4K threshold. One of the suggestions is that the Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will feature the same fps, but the resolution will be enhanced.

The Evil Within 2 will be released on October 13th. The Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is slated to launch on October 27th. Some of the other titles listed as 4k supportive are Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, Gears of War 4, Halo 5: Horizon, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Killer Instinct.

As for the Xbox One X console, its debut was scheduled for November 7th, although the lack of available pre-orders sparkled delay fears.  Still, Microsoft officials confirmed that the Xbox One X release would not be put off until a later date. It will be released on November 7th, just in time for the holiday shopping.

As for the pre-order issue, once the Xbox One X receives the necessary sale permissions, it will be available for pre-order at major online retailers.
