Friday the 13th: The Game was released mere days ago, and achieved more success than the developer, Gun Media, has expected. The game, based on the popular horror franchise, attracted a record number of players and as a result, server issues emerged.

The most frequently reported problems were related to reduced stability of the game and the rocky servers. Players complained that the game repeatedly crashed even if their computer configuration exceeded the recommended requirements. Technical graphics issues and bugs were also among the reasons for users’ resentment. Some of them have even claimed a refund for the inconveniences.

The team behind the Game has acknowledged users’ complaints and reassured all affected parties that the issues will be resolved in a timely and efficient manner.  Gun Media representatives did not specify a date when players can expect all bugs and crashed to be fixed, but fans remain hopeful it will be very soon.

The studio is developing a patch to fix an error reported in the version for Steam. Savini Jason Skin and Counselor Clothing Pack do not appear even when players redeem their codes.

According to an announcement of Wes Keltner, Gun Media founder and creative director, Friday the 13th: The Game is currently handling more than 50,000 players across all platforms.

To eliminate players’ concerns that the team is not doing anything to fix the unstable servers, the developer posts updates and diligently responds to players’ frustration across social media channels and game forums.

Some of the urgent problems Gun Media has promised to address include an upgrade to the Steam Backend Profile Database Servers, handling the Steam dedicated server downtime, and tackling the non-delivered Xbox One full game digital codes. The other common complaints waiting for Gun Media team to look into are the lack of enough dedicated Australia game servers on Steam, difficulties related to Quick match on Steam EU version, as well as the PS4 North America DLC codes shown as inactive.

Gun Media shies away from specifying a date when the game will be free of server issues. Still, it continues reassuring all players that the team is doing its best to keep the servers afloat. Although the company keeps users informed about the latest news and improvements, the wave of discontent is crashing its reputation. The only way to avoid a massive players’ loss is by finding a solution to all issues as soon as possible.
