Fans of From Software are now super hyped, with the Elden Ring reveal trailer debuting at Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference. We now know what From Software has been cooking, and a probable reason for George R.R. Martin’s book delays.

Elden Ring’s trailer reveals that this world is a collaboration between Miyazaki and Martin, which means that we can expect extremely gloomy and depressing lore.

The Release of Elden Ring

Though the hype is real, From Software is tight-lipped with regards to the release date. Now with From Software and George R.R. Martin working together, fans are wishing that whatever it is that is preventing him from completing The Winds of Winter won’t rub off its negative vibes to Elden Ring.

From an interview between a Bandai Namco representative and Miyazaki, when asked about the time the Elden Rings development started, he said that “Development for Elden Ring started just after development for the Dark Souls 3 DLC had ended. At the time, Elden Ring was being planned as a more classic fantasy title compared to others that were either being considered or already in the early stages of development.”.

Out In The Bleak World

We are still in the dark as to where the Elden Ring will take place, and we don’t have any real clues from the E3 trailer. However, based on the teaser, we can tell that it has some Norse vibes.

The voiceover from the announcement trailer is giving off the same aura that we had known and loved form the From Software games.

EXCERPT FROM THE TRAILER:

“I doubt you could even imagine it. That which commanded the skies, giving life its fullest brilliance. The Elden Ring. Shattered, by someone or something. Don’t tell me you don’t see it. Look up at the sky. It burns.”.

Biggest Game Yet

Miyazaki also said that the world of Elden Ring would be “ripe for exploration.” He confirmed that this is an open world, and while Dark Souls is nearly unrestricted in terms explorations, but it sounds like Elden Ring will showcase even greater freedom.

Miyakazi also gives some bit of info on the game-world: “Among those areas, you will also find intricately designed, multi-layered castles and such.”, he said.
