A tweet, posted on the Heroes of the Storm page, made fans presume that the next playable character would be Alexei Stukov from StarCraft. The teaser Blizzard posted mentions the Moebius Foundation from the StarCraft universe and features Zerg creep as well.

The teaser has quickly become a central topic in gaming forums. Fans seem to be impatient to get more information about the next Heroes of the Storm character arrival. Expectedly, Blizzard’s tweet created plenty of speculations about Stukov. Fans started second-guessing what his abilities would be.

Although the abilities he possessed in StarCraft II, the Phantoms of the Void mission, may not be directly translated over to Heroes of the Storm, fans still hunt for clues about his abilities. Stukov was a tactician in the StarCraft lore, too. In this regard, some buffs may be in order for his allies.

The general presumption was that Stukov would be yet another support hero for the StarCraft roster. However, some players disagreed with that suggestion and put forward other ideas.

Heroes of the Storm fans expressed their hopes that Stukov would be the first Zerg support unit. Others said that given his Infected Terran summons, he was going to be a Specialist.

Some players were convinced that he would be a summoner. However, that argument does not hold water given the fact that Blizzard representatives have previously mentioned that they regret having made so many summoners.

Others reminded that half of Stukov’s body is Zerg biomass and the limb regeneration refers to the subject’s limbs. In other words, he may be a support, but he may also be a hero with incredible self-heal.

None of these theories has been confirmed or disproved by Blizzard. The publisher is expected to grind more information about the eventual arrival of Stukov in the next few days.

Meanwhile, The Sun’s Out, Guns Out event started mere hours ago. It is the first Heroes of the Storm summer event and it will wrap up on July 24th.
