The latest Overwatch update went live on June 20th and according to previous Blizzard announcements, its main objective was improving the overall players’ experience. Most fans were pleased with the update. They confirmed that the imposed changes created the balance they have been seeking.

However, the update release did not go as smooth as expected. It came with a major bug that caused dramatic changes to Orisa’s ultimate charge. Orisa is an anchor tank hero in Overwatch. The bug gave the character a boost that achieved the opposite to the desired effect. Instead of establishing balance, the brand new Overwatch update led to considerable imbalance.

Blizzard has unintentionally introduced exclusive abilities to Orisa that basically made her ultimate charge superfast.

The bug stems from the following. Orisa’s ultimate should not be charging once the bongo is deployed. However, the new update made it work the other way around. Now, Orisa is capable of stacking her ultimate when she deals and blocks damage. Characters that have a damage boosting mechanic, like Ana and Symmetra, cannot build their ultimates while it’s active. In other words, Orisa becomes a super amplifier and attacker when using the ultimate.

At first, players thought this was a new feature they have not been informed about. However, Blizzard Entertainment came with an announcement that it has never meant to assign such abilities to Orisa. The publisher acknowledged the bug and took imminent actions towards fixing it.

Blizzard developers are currently working on a hotfix update, but it remains unknown when the fix will arrive. For the time being, players have no other option but to put up with the accidental boost. Still, rumor has it that Orisa may be disabled from play while Blizzard finds a solution to the problem.

As for the positive things about the latest Overwatch update, it brought a new Horizon Lunar Colony map. McCree, Reaper, and Roadhog received major buffs.  There was even a change that broke some aimbot programs.
