As reported by RealGear, the reveal of the Call of Duty WWII Zombie mode was supposed to take place during the Comic-Con event that kicks off on July 20th. However, the Zombie mode trailer has leaked prior to its official introduction. It was posted online and has quickly become a dominant topic in CoD WWII discussion forums.
The developer Sledgehammer Games has plenty of experience in creating creepy Nazi zombie trailers and this one is not an exception. The trailer speaks of an army forged from “the flesh of our flesh [and] the blood of our blood.” A sinister voiceover says that he “has created the devil himself”, and he is “building more than just soldiers”.
The gameplay feels pretty tense with the enemies rushing down the corridors in an attempt to take out the player characters. Sledgehammer went above and beyond to make the undead army looks gross as players can see zombies’ innards.
The teaser also hints at improvements regarding the Barbarossa sword. In other words, enemy’s attacks are expected to be devastating. The enemy appears to be quite massive, which made some players believe that this would be one of the mini-boss types.
Although the leaked trailer offers just a glimpse at the Zombies mode, the teaser seems to have captured the fanatic Nazi Zombies nature. It serves as a confirmation that the developer has kept its word to make the mode a bit “chilling”.
Players have had enough of zombie games in the recent years, but the Call of Duty WWII mode has all chances of bringing back the horror zombies usually evoke.
Soon after the leak was posted online, Sledgehammer Games’ representatives tweeted that this was not the final trailer. They added that he SHG team has been working hard on compiling the final version and sharing it with the Call of Duty communities.
Nevertheless, below, you will find the leaked Nazi Zombies mode trailer. Please note that the trailer contains scenes some viewers may consider disturbing.
