After several months of teasing, Valve has finally posted a tweet informing the Dota 2 community that Patch 7.07, containing the Dueling Fates update is slated to arrive on November 1.
Although Valve is yet to release patch notes, the announcement is a huge relief for all fans of one of the most successful MOBAs on a global scale. Keeping in mind the content of the previous updates, the Dota 2 community is impatiently waiting for a whole lot of balance changes, as well as the two new heroes. Some players even suggested that some of the heroes, currently dominating the meta, might be toned down, too.
According to the majority of Dota 2 players, this is a much-needed update. The Dota 2 community has been repeatedly asking for game changes and Valve faced criticism on the social media platforms more than once.
The Dota 2 publisher used to release major updates shortly before or after The International. However, this year, the announcement comes five months after the post-TI update. Consequently, players have lost interest in the metagame. What is more, as RealGear reported, Dota 2 playerbase has recently hit the lowest point since 2014.
Valve is expected to release the patch notes in the next few days.
