The Game of Thrones has become a worldwide phenomenon and it is not surprising that its popularity had an impact on the video games industry. A few days ago, a page on the website of the American retailer Target made players believe that Bethesda was working on a Game of Thrones RPG. Well, Target representatives have quickly cleared up the confusion and explained that it was a mistake. However, this time around, GoT fans, keen on playing MMOs on mobile devices have a reason to celebrate.
Later this year, MMO fans will be able to play the Game of Thrones: Conquest on the go. The Conquest is a multiplayer online game, playable on iOS and Android-powered devices. It is a product of the joined efforts of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and HBO Global Licensing with Turbine being the developer.
The Game of Thrones: Conquest will enable players to rule their house as they see fit, make alliances, and protect their territories by taking part in intense PvP battles across the Seven Kingdoms. Needless to say, players will be able to interact with familiar faces from GoT including Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister and even count on a small council of advisors.
According to the information released by Warner Bros and HBO, players’ main objective will be navigating through the complicated political situation in Westeros and claiming the Iron Throne. To make their way to King’s Landing, they will be enabled to imitate the Littlefinger, command a powerful army, and more.
There is no release date for the Game of Thrones: Conquest but players can pre-register on the official website. Upon registration, they will be required to pay the amount of $50.
When the game is launched every player who has pre-ordered it will be gifted the “Prepare for War” in-game bundle, valued at $50. The “Prepare for War” bundle contains Night’s Watch training gear, gold, and other resources helping players pave their way for conquering the Iron Throne.
