The next playable character in the Heroes of the Storm is the infamous WoW Horde antagonist Garrosh Hellscream. This is what Blizzard announced via a tweet, published a few hours ago.
The announcement about Garrosh’s arrival has surprised even the most diehard HoS fans who do not miss a clue about a new hero release. Heroes of the Storm communities got mixed feelings, but most of them were not overjoyed at Garrosh’s arrival as HoS has had quite a few Orcs lately. Plus, Garrosh was once defined as “everyone’s most hatred orc”. As a matter of fact, players hoped to get a single Draenei hero before getting yet another Orc.
For the time being, Blizzard representatives remain tight-lipped as to what Garrosh’s ability kit would include. The lack of official information made fans second-guess what his talents would be.
Heroes of the Storm players keep their fingers crossed that Garrosh will be a tank warrior and Blizzard will put some extra effort into his bleeding abilities. Character’s ultimate was also a subject of discussion. One of the widespread speculations is that Garrosh’s ultimate will be similar to the Duel ability of Legion Commander from Dota 2. Another speculation is that HoS could implement an Orc duel to the death.
Nevertheless, a Blizzard software engineer with a nickname BlizzCody, hinted that Garrosh will arrive with new system interactions corresponding to his design. It does not mean new gameplay elements will be added, though.
Garrosh Hellscream’s debut also means that Blizzard is not going to release a new playable character anytime soon. On the more positive side, Garrosh’s arrival takes fans one step closer to Kel’Thuzad, who is probably on the way.
Garrosh is not everyone’s favorite after the last WoW expansions, but still, players are impatient to see his playstyle, which may be a Bruiser or an Assassin.
Garrosh’s full reveal is expected in the next few days. He will go live on the PTR on Tuesday (July 25th ).
