The PC version of the strategic hero shooter Gigantic, developed by Motiga and Perfect World Entertainment, has been officially released. The game was introduced at the E3 event held earlier that year. Then, the game has vanished from the spotlight for a while. During that time, Motiga’s team has polished up the game prior to its launch. Gigantic’s full and complete version is now available on Steam free of charge.

Gigantic is a team-based, third-person shooter, MOBA-like game. As a matter of fact, it has many features typical of the MOBA gaming genre. The game has a total of 19 playable characters. Each of them has its unique powers and abilities. The hero archetypes include ranged heroes, melee fighters, magic users, etc.

The objective is simple. Players have to move forward, make strategic decisions, unlock new abilities, summon protectors. In order to win, they have to destroy the opposing team’s guardian. At the same time, their own team’s guardian swoops in and attacks. A player wins if his/ her guardian kills off the opponent’s guardian.

Although Gigantic falls into the MOBA gaming genre, it differs from the classic MOBAs in several aspects. In Gigantic, the towers are mixed with the giant boss creatures. Some players define the characters as freaky looking, but the gameplay is fare melee-based. Players can enjoy projectile based attacks and third-person hack-and-slash.

Players do not spare their criticism as far as the design is concerned. According to them, the game developers have made the game a bit “cartoonish” in an attempt to attract League of Legends and Overwatch fans.  Nevertheless, the overall impression is that Gigantic a nice deviation from the typical MOBA games that seem to copy-paste each other’s gameplots and it is worth MOBA fans’ attention.

It is essential to note that the system requirements are a bit steep, so players are recommended to have a look at them before initiating a download.
