GINX eSports TV announced that it has secured broadcasting rights for the Dota 2 International tournament hosted by Valve Corporation.
The CEO of GINX Esports TV, Michiel Bakker, commented on the matter and said that the broadcaster was excited at the opportunity to bring the International Dota 2 Championships 2017 to all esports fans. He confirmed that there is an unparalleled interest in the outcome of the tournament and added that the mind-blowing $23 million prize pool was indicative of the growth of the e-sports industry on a global scale.
The International 7 is one of the most anticipated e-sports competitions this year. The ELEAGUE are broadcasting Road to the Dota 2 Championships series that give the audience a glimpse inside the bootcamps of the e-sports teams.
As for GINX eSports TV, it is a relatively new media, a product of the joint efforts of the European broadcasting company SKY and the UK channel ITV. GINX eSports TV takes pride in having signed several notable partnerships for broadcasting in Canada and South Africa.
The last couple of weeks have been quite intriguing as far as partnerships between TV channels and e-sports organizations are concerned. Some of the notable broadcasting deals were signed between ESL and Disney, and Gfinity and BBC3.
The International Dota 2 Championships 2017 will kick off on August 7th, at KeyArena, Seattle. The event will wrap up on August 12th. As many as 16 teams will take part in the main event. Six teams have direct invites and the other 12 have secured a spot in the tournament by winning the qualifying events in South America, North America, Southeast Asia, Europe, and China.
As for the prize pool, it has risen above $23 million, which makes this year’s International Dota 2 Championships one of the most lucrative tournaments in the e-sports history.
