Nintendo representatives have already confirmed that the Switch console is to receive some major updates. Although they revealed in-depth details about console’s technical specs, leaked documents shed light on the additional features that can possibly be integrated into the system.
The leaked documents were intended for the Switch developers. According to the information, they contain, Nintendo is planning to offer its users a functionality that enables the transfer of save data from one console to another. Currently, users are not able to retrieve save files from the console they are created with. In other words, if this functionality is added, it is expected to receive players’ total approval.
As for the guest login feature, the leak claims that users will be able to play without creating a user account. Such functionality would be useful in instances when a user wants to play on a friend’s system and avoid going through the account creation process.
However, the leaked documents have a serious setback. The documents were released at least six months ago. Therefore, there is a high probability the containing information to be outdated. In case the information is still valid, Nintendo developers are currently working on the above-mentioned functionalities. However, there is a chance that the inclusion of these features was once considered and then discarded.
Although it remains uncertain if the information the documents contain is still relevant, it provides an insight into the relationship between the switch developers and Nintendo itself. Nintendo has often been accused of failing to keep up with the competition when it comes to the functionalities a modern console should possess. However, the fact that Nintendo is briefing the development studio should be considered as a clear indication of company’s eagerness to roll out a console, featuring all bells and whistles of an up-to-date device.
