Back in June, Razer introduced the Thresher Ultimate Wireless headset, which has become one of the popular peripherals soon after its launch. However, the headset carries a bit of a hefty price tag that deterred some customers from making a purchase. That is why Razer decided to add three headsets to its line-up. The Thresher for Xbox One, the Thresher for PS4, and the Tresher Tournament Edition are not a big departure from the original Thresher Ultimate headset. However, they come at a significantly reduced price.

The Thresher for Xbox One is devoid of the chunky base station. It enables users to connect the headset to the console over the same protocol the Xbox One controller uses. The Thresher for Xbox One has the same range of features as its Ultimate counterpart. It has a wireless range of up to 40 feet, surround sound, 50mm drivers, a retractable boom mic and a 16-hour battery life. When launched, the device will cost $149.99.

As for the Thresher for PS4, Razer has removed the base station. Instead, the updated version utilizes a USB dongle and offers Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound support. The Thresher for PS4 retail price is $149.99.

The Thresher for Xbox One and PS4 headsets are tailored to work with one console and one console alone. Players who use multiple platforms can opt for the Thresher Tournament Edition headset. The latter is compatible with all platforms and features 50mm audio drivers, a boom mic and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Its price is set at $99.

Availability

At the time of writing, the new headsets can be purchased via the official Razer store. They will be available at major online retailers by the end of October.
