Razer has launched a new BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2 keyboard. The latter is an enhanced version of the well-known BlackWidow Chroma V2, but it comes with some extra features intended to give players an edge during a game. The BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2 is devoid of the numpad on the right side, which makes it easy to carry around.

The biggest selling point of the BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2 is the Instant Trigger Technology (ITT). In brief, the ITT eliminates the delay between key actuation thus making the key presses feel more responsive. That is a feature that may not impress casual gamers, but pro players will find it beneficial.

The BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2 keyboard is offered with yellow, orange or green switches. As for the yellow switches, they are the newest addition to Razer’s switches lineup. The yellow switches do not produce the distinctive click sound. In other words, they are considerably quieter than their green counterparts.

Although the new keyboard is not a big departure from its full-size brother, Razer designers have removed the numpad and added a magnetic, detachable wrist rest.

The lighting effects are the same. Each key is individually backlit and users have more than 16 million color options at their disposal. The keyboard is fully customizable via the Razer Synapse software.

Company’s CEO Min-Liang Tan, released a statement regarding keyboard’s release. He said that gamers count on their gear to perform well in any complicated situation and added that the combination of the ITT and yellow switches has raised the bar as far as response rating of modern keyboards was concerned.

The BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2 keyboard is currently available for purchase at the Razer store at a price of $139.99/€149.99. It will be available at all major online retailers sometime in August.
