After several weeks of teases, NetherRealm Studios representatives announced that next week, Injustice 2 fans are going to receive the Red Hood DLC update. During a Watchtower stream, the developer revealed that the Red Hood is to be available on June 13th. However, only players who have purchased the Fighter Pack 1 DLC or the Deluxe edition will gain access to the update next week. Those who have not, will be able to challenge Red Hood in-game capabilities on the third week of June.

The Fighter Pack 1 DLC sells at $20 and includes Mortal Kombat’s Sub Zero, and Starfire. Those who opt for the Deluxe edition would get the three fighters upon their release. The Ultimate Edition, that costs $100, provides players with all nine planned DLC characters.

Ed Boon, the creative director at NetherRealm Studios, used the social media to hint at the upcoming launch of the Red Hood. He said that the Red Hood release was just “a few days away”.

Meanwhile, it became clear that the Red Hood multiverse will allow players to check out a character before making a purchase. That will be applicable to all characters arriving at Injustice 2.

However, players need to be aware of a small and yet important detail. None of the DLC characters will be available for selection until the first month after their launch. In other words, players will be able to take advantage of that option at the beginning of July.

As for the latest Injustice 2 update, it brought tons of fixes. Also, the character select screen now features all nine upcoming DLC fighters. The Red Hood will be the first to be released. For the time being, the remaining eight are just silhouettes. Judging from these silhouettes, players put forward solid arguments that apart from the Red Hood, Sub-Zero, and Starfire, the other characters will be Atom, Spawn/Azrael, Enchantress, Black Manta, Raiden, and Constantine/Rorschach.
