Rumor has it that the lovable League of Legends character Teemo is slated to get his own standalone game developed by Riot Games and its parent company Tencent Holdings.

The information first surfaced on Twitter when the gaming industry analyst Daniel “ZhugeEX” Ahmad shared that a new game called “Teemo’s Adventure” has been approved by the Chinese Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association.

China is among the countries known for the stern rules concerning video games. That is why the Publishing Association rates the games prior to their PC and console release and makes sure they correspond to the “cultural values” of the country.

Teemo’s Adventure is listed as a PC single-player although there is no clue what genre it will fall under.

Tencent Holding is a key player on the Chinese gaming scene. It launched its own gaming division and Riot is its primary subsidiary, so it makes sense that the two companies may be working on a new project. Tencent seems determined to cement its positions as a leading gaming and social media company on a global scale, and it also manages WeGame – an international gaming platform, intended to be a Steam rival.

Teemo “The Swift Scout” is a League of Legends champ also known as the LoL Satan. Players hate him not because he is a bad champ but because he is too good at provoking his opponents to make unapologetic mistakes. Although his cute appearance does not hint at his evil nature, he is said to be the ideal LoL character for a standalone game. If the rumors turn out to be true, Teemo’s Adventure may be the first title of a single-hero LoL Adventures series.

At the time of writing, neither Riot nor Tencent has confirmed or denied the speculations about the Teemo’s Adventure. Stay tuned for more updates.
