The popular manufacturer of networking hardware products Linksys unveiled the new WRT32X gaming router. The device is a product of the joint efforts of Linksys and Rivet Networks. One of its biggest selling points is the built-in Killer Prioritization Engine that ensures lag-free gaming sessions.
Essentially, the WRT32X determines which of the connected devices uses the Killer Networking hardware. Then, it prioritizes the gaming and video networking traffic and if needed, lowers the bandwidth available to other users. PC users can also set the router to reduce the priority of downloads while they are playing a game. Needless to say, users can adjust the router to prioritize video streaming and let the device ensure that “nothing in the home slows down those streaming video networking packets.”
According to a statement, released by Linksys, the “enterprise grade hardware” and the custom-built firmware are one of a kind and cannot be found on any other device. The UI, available in a dedicated tab on the Killer Control Center, enables users to change essential key gaming network settings.
The WRT32X gaming router is already available for pre-order, but it will be released on September 24th. Currently, it can be purchased for $299.99. Once released, it will cost $329.99.
