About 2,800 people turned up for a two-day Fortnite Live event at Norfolk, United Kingdom last Saturday. According to reports from The Guardian, limited activities, small activity area, and long queue lines plagued the game. Thus, resulting in numerous complaints and refund demands.
Not So Fun-filled Day
Tickets for the themed festival costed from £12 and wristbands for unlimited access were an extra £20. However guests have stated that there were limited activities and not enough event space for the attendees. Some parents could not hide their disappointment with the staff organizers and the event itself.
Oliver Phillips from Sudbury, Suffolk and his 10-year-old son, Theo can’t hide their dismay at the event; Mr. Phillips said “The attractions were pretty rubbish. It was the thing you see at a school fete,”. He continued to comment that the cave experience was “a trailer, no bigger than a car, with a tunnel through it.”

Exciting Events organized the festival and not the game’s publisher Epic Games. The event was about Fortnite: Battle Royale, a free online FPS game and was said to have over 200 million registered users worldwide.
Shaun Lord, Exciting Events proprietor, admitted that he is understaffed, According to him 8 of his 19 staff didn’t show up for the event. He added that refunds were granted to everyone who asked, but when questioned to say how many people had claimed, he refused to give the exact figure.
He further stated that “We are dealing with people on an individual basis,” and he also claimed “There is a lot of people who have told me they have had a fantastic time, and their kids have thoroughly enjoyed it,” he continued. “We will take everybody’s feedback into consideration, and we will act on it,” he said.
