Avantree Audition Pro Wireless Bluetooth Headphones Review

The Avantree Audition Pro is a solid bet for quality, and yet cost-effective headphones. Despite its lack of an active noise-canceling ability, its superb battery life, rich lows, and crisp highs make it a great accessory for any audiophile.

Lag Free Audio Experience and 40 Hours of Battery Life at a Reasonable Price

When it comes to finding a pair of good Bluetooth headphones for gaming or listening to music, I doubt that the Avantree Audition Pro would be the first model that pops into your head. You will probably think of well-established brands such as Bose or Sennheiser and get disappointed when you find out that you cannot afford a pair right now. That’s why I am impatient to introduce the Avantree Audition Pro – wireless Bluetooth headphones that strike an amazing balance between price and quality and even outperform their high-end counterparts in certain areas. The durable battery, Bluetooth connectivity, and comfortable design make the Audition Pro suitable for outdoor use, playing PC and console games, listening to music, or watching movies.

What makes the Audition Pro stand out from the rest is the extremely low latency. As seen on the box, the headphones offer incredibly low latency as compared to its rivals.

The controls are easy to reach and the headphones themselves are lightweight and suitable for prolonged use. Also, the headphones are foldable and easy to transport.

The aptX Low Latency Codec technology minimizes the lag. You must have experienced the irritating delay between the lips movements of the person you are watching and the sound you hear. Luckily, with the Audition Pro, this issue is non-existent.

The NFC is one of the biggest selling points of the Audition Pro. In brief, the NFC allows you to connect the headphones to a Bluetooth-enabled device in a matter of a few seconds. You can connect two devices simultaneously and share the listening experience with a friend or your significant other.

If you want to connect the headphones to your PS4 or Xbox One you have to opt for the wired connection. If you don’t have a smart TV with Bluetooth capability, you can simply plug the headphones into the standard headphone jack of your TV.

Avantree Audition Pro Comfort and Build Quality

The Audition Pro have an adjustable headband as well as soft protein leather ear pads for optimal comfort. You can use the headphones in wired mode by plugging the 3.5mm line input and enjoy a crisp sound.

The Avantree Audition and Audition Pro headphones are available in black and brown and black and red, respectively. Both models are made of durable reinforced metal. You must be out of your mind to damage the frame on purpose, but I have to tell you that I was impressed by its durability. No matter how hard I tried to break it, I was only able to bend it slightly. The Pro version is a bit more expensive than the standard Audition version, but in reward, users get a better-cushioned headband, which adds to your comfort during PC gaming marathons.

Avantree Audition Pro Sound Quality

The built-in bass boost makes the Audition Pro headphones, perfect for movies, music, gaming, etc. You can turn on and off the bass boost and my personal impression is that the headphones leak better sound without the bass boost. The headphones don’t get super loud, but I liked the 75% volume adjustment.

It is essential to note that in order to get superior audio experience, you should use a low-latency Bluetooth transmitter. I mean, the headphones work well without a transmitter, but buying one will help you reduce the audio delay to approximately 30- 40 ms.

Given its price, the Audition Pro delivers a fantastic sound, but you will have to spend some time fiddling with the equalizer settings. The headphones do not have an active noise reduction feature like the WaveSound 3 or Cowin E7 but the earcups do a good job isolating the ambient noise.

Overall, the Audition Pro delivers great sound clarity and nice mids. The bass boost feature makes the bass heavy music sound divine. The clear treble and rich lows make the headphones perfect for playing games on PC, Xbox or PS4, too. A friend of mine even wears them during his morning jog. The headphones clap well, so there is no risk to shake them off your head during a physical activity.

Audition Pro Battery Life

According to the manufacturer’s manual, the headphones can get you through 40 hours of wireless usage while most of its rivals in this price category have a battery life of up to 30 hours.

If your battery dies, or you are at a place where other devices interfere with the Bluetooth connection, you can opt for the wired mode. This is a perk most Bluetooth headphones lack and yet another reason why the Audition Pro is an excellent choice for people looking for versatile headphones on a budget.

Avantree Audition vs. Avantree Audition Pro

Here is a brief overview of the differences between the Audition and the Audition pro versions

Are Avantree Audition Pro Headphones Worth the Purchase?

The Avantree Audition Pro ensures the best possible quality at this price point. The pairing is a no-brainer, the headphones themselves are lighter as compared to most wireless devices and they do not cost an arm and a leg.  If you ask me if I would use the headphones myself, my answer is YES. I believe that every budget-conscious person would prefer quality over a certain brand name.

And if you need a noise canceling feature, I would suggest that you check out our Cowin E7 Pro or Treblab Z2 reviews
