Knowing this, TREBLAB Z2 joins the fray, offering 35 hours of battery life, active noise canceling, and crystal-clear sound. All these features come without robbing you of your next paycheck. With promises like this, I channeled my inner Audiophile and checked out these headphones to see if everything is as good as it looks on paper.

What’s in the Box?
The headphones arrive in a sleek black box. Inside you can find a black carrying case, a charging cord, an aux-in cable, and a manual. They were carefully packaged, and I didn’t spot a dent anywhere.
Build and Design
TREBLAB Z2 are pure black with silver accents on the earcups. Though they seem sturdy, the plasticky feel made me question their life span. Overall, the headphones look presentable, and you can rest assured that they won’t look odd on your head while going for your morning jog or braving the morning commute.
Headband
The headband is flexible and looks well built; it is nicely padded so that you won’t feel too much stress on top of your head. The weight is also well distributed, and I felt no pressure during my day-long music binge.
Earcups
If you are like me and like your earcups super soft, then these headphones deliver. I also noticed that their shape snugs the natural contours of my ears and head. However, when laying propped up on my side, the earcups can get a little wonky, and they tend to droop a bit, which ends in some audio leaking. While testing, I had my headphones on for long periods, and I felt they somewhat made my ears warm after a couple of hours.
Controls
What I like about this headset is that the controls are well-placed and convenient to use. I encountered no unintended button presses, even while chilling on the couch or laying in my bed.
There are three buttons on the right earcup: a play/pause/pairing button plus two buttons for forward/volume down and backward/volume up. Inputs for the aux cable and the USB charger are also there, right behind the buttons. Rest assured, controls work with Android, iOS, and other operating systems too. Moving on to the left side headphone cup, you can turn the active noise cancellation on and off here via a toggle switch.
Connectivity
Pairing with my devices was a piece of cake and worked immediately. With an army of cats at home, wireless connectivity is a lifesaver. TREBLAB Z2 has the Bluetooth 4.2 CSR technology. TREBLAB claims this headphone has a Bluetooth range of about 38 feet. I admit, I never went beyond a 35 feet distance; however, some users report they moved away 50 feet, and the connection was still stable. Awesome.
TREBLAB Z2 Sound Quality
I listened to mostly acoustic and some bass-rich music. I noticed that these headphones unquestionably sounded better with the volume turned up a little. I observed that with lower volumes the music is just too restrained. I could positively identify some muffled sounds unless I played my music at high volumes.
The TREBLAB Z2’s 40mm neodymium speakers are accompanied by the aptX low latency HD sound codec. I was impressed by the headphones’ level of clarity, vibrant highs, smooth mids, and well-balanced basses. I want to commend the lows because instead of it just being overpowering and pounding your ears, they are crisp and don’t sound muddy.
Call Quality
I tested TREBLAB Z2 headphones’ mic with a couple of calls. The mic quality was not what you would call terrific, but was still decent. For the first call, I used the packaged aux-in cord to connect to my phone. I could hear the other side perfectly, and the receiver reported no disruptions in my voice. So far so good. For the second call, I used Bluetooth. This time, the person on the other end of the line said I sounded distant, like my mic was a few feet away, so I had to raise my voice a bit to be heard well.
Active Noise Cancellation
TREBLAB Z2 has an ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) feature. ANC, combined with the foam of the ear cups, does an excellent job of minimizing the background noises. It is not perfect though, and it doesn’t block all sounds. My cat meows were still here, although they sounded very distant. People’s chattering could yet be heard too; however, it was more like a murmur. Nevertheless, at such a price tag, the ANC function is decent and is comparable to Cowin E7, or Avantree Audition Pro models.
Battery Life
The shocking claim of 38 hours of play time with only 3 hours of charging was something that was just begging to be put to the test. Though it didn’t stay true to its promise, 35 hours of battery time was still superb. The announcement that the battery was getting low was nice, although I found the internal robot voice volume a tad too high. The “low battery” warning served as a jump scare, and I wished they had made this voice more discreet.
Final Verdict
TREBLAB Z2 has a decent, finely rounded-out sound, and the battery life is extraordinary. The bass is strong enough to enjoy, but it won’t shake your brains out. Considering their wallet friendliness and the value you get, purchasing a pair of the Z2s can be considered a real bargain. The long battery life, super soft earpads, and water-resistant design make them a perfect companion for lazy Sunday jams, Netflix binges, or workout routines. On the other hand, if you like boosting the bass to a degree so it can shake your core, then the TREBLAB Z2 headphones may not please you. In such a case you’d better look for higher class ones, like Bose QC35.
