Here, we’ll cover the most effective weapons, lethal equipment, as well as tactical gear, and perks for all Warzone classes.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned veteran trying to stay in touch with the ever-growing Warzone 2 metas, these loadouts will help you take your game to the next level, pun intended!

So let’s get the gaming mouse and keyboard ready and dive into the best Warzone 2 loadouts for 2023!

Important: The loadouts covered here are from Season 1 Reloaded. However, we’ll keep updating this article as more seasons get rolled out, not to mention the highly anticipated Season 2 update, which is expected later this month.

TL;DR – Warzone 2 Best Loadouts 2023

  • M4 and VEL 46: The best loadout for low-level players looking for an effective entry-level combo that can keep up with leveled players’ souped-up kits.
  • Signal 50 and Fennec 45: Signal 50 is the ideal weapon for long-range combat, whereas the Fennec 45 can make mincemeat of anything at short to medium range.
  • TAQ-56 and Bryson 800: A deadly loadout for close-quarter combat situations. Bryson 800 is capable of one-hit kills at short ranges, whereas the TAQ-56 is a great all-rounder weapon.
  • RPK and JOKR: The best loadout for players who want to provide support to their teammates. RPK is the meta LMG, whereas the JOKR can chew through vehicles.
  • Kastov 762 and X13 Auto: The perfect loadout for run-and-gun style gameplay. Both these weapons are light and highly maneuverable, making them perfect for hit-and-run.
  • Chimera and LM-S: The perfect loadout for stealthy players who don’t like to draw too much attention. Chimera excels at short to medium range, whereas the LM-S shines at long range.

How Are Warzone 2.0 Loadouts Different from Warzone 1.0?

First and foremost, there are more ways to get loadouts in Warzone 2.0 compared to Warzone 1.0. You can buy one from the Shop, raid the loot drop, or complete the Stronghold or Black site mini-quests to access your custom loadouts. In the previous edition of Warzone, there were no Stronghold or Black Site mini-quest rewards.

Additionally, loot drops in Warzone 2.0 aren’t limited to any single player or team. Anyone can grab the loadouts from these loot drops if they are first to them.

Finally, Warzone 2.0 loadouts are more polished and balanced than the original Warzone 1.0 loadouts. A lot of popular Warzone 1.0 weapons, including MP40, XM4, Cooper Carbine, and Armaguerra 43 (to name a few), have been dropped in favor of new guns such as RPK, TAQ-56, Chimera, etc. All these changes help make the Warzone 2.0 gaming experience feel more balanced, fresh, and refined.

So what is the best Warzone 2 loadout right now?

Best Loadouts for Warzone 2 Right Now—Reviewed!

Before delving deeper into the nitty-gritty, we’ll like to explain our research methodology first. As always, we started by scouring the internet to learn about the most popular loadouts. Here, we’d like to mention Reddit in particular.

We went through hundreds of best Warzone 2 loadout Reddit threads on various popular SubReddits such as r/CODWarzone, r/WarzoneClips, r/Warzone, r/ModernWarzone, r/CallofDuty, r/WarzoneTips (among others) to get a good idea of what to (and what not to) expect from each weapon, perk, attachment, and killstreak.

Next, we took to YouTube—as well as Twitch—to watch the top dogs (like JGOD) in action to get a glimpse of their master-class gameplay and hopefully learn a few neat tricks in the process (which we did).

With all that information in hand, we asked our in-house team to grind for hours, playing the Battle Royale mode and test all the recommendations to handpick the ones they like the most.

After putting a fair amount of blood, sweat, and tears into the game—followed by smells of victory—we finally figured out the best meta loadouts for Warzone 2 players. And we just can’t wait to share our findings with you!

1. M4 and VEL 46 – Best Warzone 2 Loadout for Beginners

Players who are just starting out in Warzone 2 and looking for a forgiving, easy-to-use, yet effective loadout would be hard-pressed to find a better option than the classic M4 A, along with VEL 46 (based on MP7). Both these weapons are available early in the game, making them the perfect choice for noobs.

M4 is a highly versatile, long range AR that can be effectively used in a wide range of situations. Here are our favorite M4 attachments:

  • Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp
  • Barrel: Hightower 20″ Barrel
  • Underbarrel: FTac Ripper 56

Just like the M4, the Vel 46 excels in versatility and accessibility. Not only that but leveling up this baby will unlock a ton of neat attachments down the line, such as the Schlager RV-B and SZ Vortex-90. Top attachments for VEL 46 include:

  • Muzzle: AVR-T90 Comp
  • Barrel: FTac Ripper 56
  • Magazine: 50 Round Drum

As for perks, you’ll have to take Overkill for carrying both the M4 and the VEL 46. And since you’ll be getting shot a lot—on account of being fresh meat—we recommend choosing Stim for healing and sticky grenades as lethal equipment.

2. Signal 50 and Fennec 45 – Best Warzone 2 Loadout for Camping

Players who prefer to go all Hawkeye and pick off enemies from a long, safe distance will be best served with the legendary Signal 50 + Fennec 45 combo. This combo works so darn well that we are surprised Raven Software and co. hasn’t done anything about it. Not that we are complaining, eh?!

The Signal 50 is the meta of all metas and the best Warzone 2 sniper rifle. Period. It has the fastest RPM of all snipers (133), as well as Damage per Second (DPS). And with the right attachments, it becomes a force to be reckoned with. Our recommendations:

  • Muzzle: Nilsound 90
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
  • Stock: SO Inline Stock

Since the Signal 50 could be a bit too porky for close quarters, our recommendation would be to pair it up with the nimble Fennec 45, which makes up for the former’s lack of mobility. It’s an SMG that spews lead at an alarming rate at 1126 rounds per minute or over 18 rounds per second! Our favorite Fennec 45 attachments include:

  • Barrel: ZLR Ignition Barrel
  • Magazine: Fennec Mag 45
  • Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp

For perks, once again, we’ll recommend Overkill; otherwise, you won’t be able to carry both your primary weapons. Then just find a good camping spot to perch on, choose Proximity Mines for lethal, scatter them all around the area, and sit back and watch things go boom bam.

As for the tactical equipment, choose Heartbeat Sensor. If things get dicey, whip out the Fennec and pounce on anyone who dares to desecrate your sanctuary.

3. TAQ-56 and Bryson 800 – Best Warzone 2 Loadout for Close Combats

For gamers who prefer to get up close and personal, it doesn’t get much better than the TAQ-56 and Bryson 800 combo.

TAQ-56 is a formidable AR with good TTK and accuracy at mid to long ranges. However, beware if you’ve got a sweet tooth for the trigger button. The gun has a decent amount of kick to it and starts spraying bullets willy-nilly if you hold your mouse button for too long. Recommended attachments include:

  • Barrel: Tundra Pro Barrel
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Muzzle: Harbinger D20

As for close-quarter engagements, the Bryson 800 is a ‘one shot, one kill’ boomstick. It can drop a foe in an instant, no questions asked. Here are our favorite attachments:

  • Muzzle: Lockwood Smoothfire 12
  • Underbarrel: TV Wrecker Grip
  • Stock: FTAC Apollo

For perks, you will have to choose Overkill here as well. For lethal and tactical, we recommend Throwing Knives, along with Flash Grenades

4. RPK and JOKR – Best Warzone 2 Loadout for Heavy Support

Want to go all Rambo while also providing suppressive fire to your teammates under siege? Choose RPK and JOKR. Easy! This is by far the best Warzone 2 loadout for high kill games, as both these weapons are capable of causing a lot of grief and pain in not a whole lot of time.

The RPK is basically a lead hose that’s surprisingly controllable and absolutely devastating at low to mid range. Just point its business end at the enemy and let her rip. No strategy required. Some of the best RPK attachments include:

  • Muzzle: Zulu-60
  • Rear Grip: Demo-X2
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper

And the JOKR isn’t kidding around either (no pun intended). It’s a capable ‘fire and forget’ weapon that’s great for taking out vehicles. So just whip it out if the enemy, infuriated by your RPK, calls in the cavalry… or tries to scoot on an ATV.

We recommend choosing the Commando perk for this loadout, which includes Scavenger, Strong Arm, Fast Hands, and High Alert, all perfect for Rambo wannabes. For lethal and tactical equipment, we recommend going with Frag Grenades and Snapshot Grenades, respectively.

5. Kastov 762 and X13 Auto – Best Warzone 2 Loadout for Run and Gun

Kastov 762 and X13 Auto is the meta combo for those who like to run ‘n’ gun and spray ‘n’ pray.

Kastov 762 is based on the ol’ dependable Kalashnikov. And just like the real deal, Warzone 2’s Kastov 762 is a reliable weapon that works in a wide range of situations. Just don’t try to snipe with it, and you should be fine. Some notable attachments include:

  • Barrel: KAS-10
  • Magazine: 40-Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: Demo-X2

The X13 Auto is based on the real-life Glock 18 machine pistol. It supports the largest clip of all bean shooters at 17 rounds per mag, bone stock, which can be upgraded to a whopping 33 rounds. If that’s not enough, you can even Akimbo it for an insane boost in TTK. Best X13 Auto attachments include:

  • Muzzle: FT Steel Fire
  • Magazine: 33 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: Akimbo X12

We highly recommend going with the Recon perk with this loadout, along with Molotov Cocktails and Tactical Decoy.

6. Chimera and LM-S – Best Warzone 2 Loadout for Stealth

Wanna wet your sneak beak? Pick the Chimera + LM-S combo. This Warzone 2 Chimera loadout has gained a cult following among the hush-hounds, and for good reasons.

Let’s start with Chimera, the star of this loadout. Chimera comes standard with a sound suppressor, which is a huge bonus as you won’t have to grind in order to keep it on the DL. Secondly, it has a very high rate of fire with good TTK, which makes it the go-to-gun for the sneaky Petes among us. Best Chimera attachments include:

  • Barrel: SA Phoenix
  • Stock: TRX-56 Stock
  • Underbarrel: FTac Ripper

Like the Chimera, the LM-S also comes standard with a sound suppressor baked-in. While the Chimera excels at short to medium range, the LM-S rules at long range, making this the perfect loadout for all situations. Here are the top LM-S attachments:

  • Muzzle: Polafire Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin
  • Optic: SZ Lonewolf

Since both these weapons are categorized as primary weapons, you’ll have to take the Overkill perk. For lethal and tactical equipment, we recommend C4 Plastic Explosives, along with Smoke Grenades

How to Get Loadouts Fast in Warzone 2

Here are a couple of surefire ways to get loadouts fast in Call of Duty Warzone 2:

i) Complete Contracts: Completing contracts, which are basically in-game objectives, can reward you with cash, XP, and important intel. You can use these to fasttrack your access to the coveted loadouts. Just watch your six and try not to bite off more than you can chew!

ii) Clear All Enemy Strongholds First: Clearing enemy strongholds, which are controlled by enemy A.I, is undoubtedly one of the easiest ways to get loadouts in Warzone 2. However, if you complete all the Stronghold quests first, it opens a Black Site. The site will have a Juggernaut. Kill the Juggernaut and unlock even more loadouts during the match.

What Warzone 2 Loadout Should You Use?

Not all loadouts are suitable in all situations. Hence why it’s important to consider several factors before choosing a loadout and heading into the battle arena. Here are some of the most important aspects of choosing the right loadout:

Weapons

Selecting the right weapons is by far the most important aspect of any loadout. Always choose weapons that suit your playstyle and the game map

For example, shotguns rock in close quarters. But at long range, they’d be about as useful as the ‘g’ in Lasagna.

Attachments

After weapons come attachments. Attachments offer various buffs such as improved accuracy, lower recoil, higher bullet velocities, larger magazines, sound suppressors, scopes, laser sights, etc. Each attachment also comes with various debuffs to prevent spamming.

Perks

Next up on the list is perks. Perks are passive abilities that provide various bonuses, such as health generation, longer sprint durations, increased crouching speeds, ammo recharge, and more. As is the case with weapons and attachments, always pick perks that fit your particular playstyle.

Lethal and Tactical Equipment

Lethal equipment includes C4, Claymore mines, and frag grenades, whereas tactical equipment includes stuff like smoke grenades, flashbangs, as well as tactical decoys. Each one works best with a particular playstyle.

For example, campers may want to surround their base with Claymore mines and C4 in order to deter nosy foes from sneaking up on them with a boomstick. On the other hand, players who like to get up close and personal will be much better served with flashbangs and smoke grenades to either flush out the enemies or GTHO when SHTF.

Killstreaks and Field Upgrades

Last but not least are kill streaks and field upgrades. Killstreaks are basically rewards that you get when you eliminate a certain number of players in a row or attain a certain amount of score.

Field upgrades, on the other hand, are special items that provide additional equipment and gear such as deployable covers, ammo boxes, decoys, armor-piercing a.k.a AP rounds, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Warzone 2 Loadouts

What’s the Point of Loadouts in Warzone?

Loadouts give you a significant edge over your competitors while playing the game. You can equip yourself with powerful guns and tactical gears and not wait for the weapon drops from enemy kills. This enables you to adapt to a new situation or employ different gameplay tactics on the fly with ease.

How Many Loadouts Can You Create in Warzone 2?

Players are allowed to create up to 10 different loadouts in Warzone 2. These loadouts can be adjusted and customized before each match.

Can You Get Your Loadout Twice in Warzone 2?

What’s the Minimum Warzone 2 Loadout Cost?

The minimum loadout drop cost for solo players in Warzone 2 is $8,000, whereas duos, trios, and quads loadout drop costs $16,000, $24,000, and $32,000, respectively.

What Perk Lets You Have 2 Primary Weapons in Warzone 2?

What Are the Best Guns for Warzone 2?

Fennec 45, RPK, TAQ-56, Kastov 762, 74U, and STB 556 are some of the best guns for Warzone 2. All of these weapons are popular among pro-Warzone 2 players for their accuracy, TTK, meta, and versatility, and can be effectively used in a wide range of combat situations.

What is the Strongest AR in Warzone 2?

Kastov 74U is the strongest AR (Assault Rifle) in Warzone 2 that deals the most damage per shot and, as a result, has the highest DPS (Damage Per Second) and lowest STK (Shots to Kill) of all assault rifles.

The TAQ-56 is the best long-range AR in Warzone 2. With its high accuracy, above-average TTK, and low recoil, the TAQ-56 is capable of taking down enemies from long distances with ease. Additionally, it can be customized with Cronen Zero-P Optic sight that provides 5.0x magnification and also improves accuracy.

What Gun Kills Fastest in Warzone 2?

The STB 556 has a fast TTK (Time to Kill) at medium ranges. While lacking the raw muscle of Kastov 74U, it makes up for it with its RPM or Rounds Per Minute, which is quite high at 766, while still dishing out a decent amount of damage per shot.

What is the Best SMG to Use in Warzone 2?

Fennec 45 is, without a doubt, the best SMG to use in Warzone 2. Its insanely high rate of fire at 1,126 rounds per minute, as well as manageable recoil, low weight, high mobility, and decent accuracy, makes it by far the best weapon in close-range encounters.
