That tendency is especially noticeable among manufacturers striving to become competitive to the most established brands. They pack the mice with fancy features, put an attractive price tag and sacrifice the comfort. Anyway, I\u2019d better stop ranting about that, otherwise the review will take a detour to another topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The G602 has a sleek design and the ergonomic curves are <strong>super comfortable for palm-grippers.<\/strong> The mouse has a relatively long shape and a medium-height arch, but the thumb ledge seems a bit big, while the pinkie rest is quite shallow. The rubber provides extra grip when your palms become sweaty. The truth is that Logitech hasn\u2019t rocked the boat with the design. The G602 has a similar design and button layout as its counterparts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The G602 is yet another mouse that lefties cannot put on their Christmas wish list. Logitech has some awesome ambidextrous gaming peripherals, but I can count the mice designed exclusively for lefties on the fingers of one hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Size\">Size<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the G602 tops the scales at 152g (with two batteries), it is not a cumbersome beast. The wrist fatigue may become a concern, but if it is of any help, the mouse is easy to slide around. It has a smooth bottom, which further helps you glide it across different surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Layout\">Layout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/layout.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4656\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/layout.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/layout-300x123.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/layout-768x315.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Logitech G602 has a total of 11 buttons- a scroll wheel, a performance mode switcher, DPI toggles, six reprogrammable buttons, right and left clickers. As compared to the Razer Naga Epic Chroma or other game-specific mice, the G602 has fewer buttons, but after all, it is <strong>designed to be an all-rounder mouse<\/strong>. All buttons are well placed and easy to access, although I felt the performance mode switcher is a bit awkward to toggle. The blue LEDs on the side of the mouse display the DPI level you are at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not mind the cables or have your reasons to disapprove of wireless mice, you&#8217;d better check the G602&#8217;s wired sibling&nbsp; and read our <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/logitech-g502-proteus-spectrum-gaming-mouse-review\/\">Logitech G502 review<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The six programmable buttons are located on the left side, and you can easily access them with the thumb. The front of the mouse houses the right and left buttons as well as two additional buttons for switching DPI on-the-fly. You can easily squeeze them with your index finger. They are well-positioned so the risk of accidental presses is reduced. The mouse uses <strong>durable mechanical switches <\/strong>that can endure up to 20 million clicks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Responsiveness_and_Sensor\">Responsiveness and Sensor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are looking for a good office mouse, you can just pick the first one on sale. However, when you are looking for the best gaming mouse, you have to pay attention to a number of factors, the DPI and sensor quality being among them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The G602 DPI is in the range between 250 and 2,500. If you set the DPI at 250, you will be able to do some web browsing. If you are serious about gaming, you need a mouse with a higher DPI. FPS gamers will now hurry up to disprove my statement that the G602 is a decent gaming mouse. Hold the fire, folks. What I want to say is that casual players will be fine with the G602. Pro gamers, concerned about the hyper-twitch gameplay might have to look elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The G602 is equipped with a <strong>super accurate Delta Zero sensor<\/strong> <strong>technology<\/strong> and a polling rate of 500Hz or a 2 ms response time. Some pieces of gaming gear offer a polling rate of up to 1000Hz, but that\u2019s not always necessary. What\u2019s more, in some cases it can do more harm than good, and put a strain on the processor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Wireless_Mode_Only?\">Wireless Mode Only?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Logitech G602 is a wireless mouse. You cannot plug in a cord and go wired. The mouse ships with a small USB dongle that works as a wireless receiver. The battery life of wireless rodents have always been a hot potato and it is easy to grasp why. Relying solely on a wireless mode means the battery can run out of juice in the middle of the game. However, <strong>Logitech has found a wise solution and proved that gamers\u2019 fears are groundless.<\/strong> The G602 can get you through up to 250 hours of gameplay. It can also run on a single AA battery, in which case it will drain within 125 hours. On the other hand, <strong>the absence of one battery makes the mouse lighter. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also choose between a Performance mode and Endurance mode. The latter extends battery\u2019s life to the staggering 1440 hours. The long battery life takes its toll, though. You\u2019d better use the Endurance mode only when you perform standard home or office tasks. Using the mouse in Endurance mode has a negative impact on mouse\u2019s accuracy and sensitivity. In my tests, the G602 did not show any signs of lagging and interference, even when I put it near several wireless devices. Tracking remained smooth and consistent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Software\">Software<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you bring the G602 to battle, you need to configure it via the software. Once you install the Logitech software, you will gain access to the host features. You can program macros for different buttons, set profiles and assign profiles to preferred games. These will be saved in the on-board memory. <strong>When you load up a certain game, the software will automatically detect it and the relevant settings will be launched.<\/strong> However, keep in mind that you will have to switch between the onboard memory and the Automatic Game Detection Mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Wrap_Up\">Wrap Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Logitech G602 is a wonderful mouse you can use not only for gaming but also for tasks that require precision. A single battery charge allows you to use it for weeks. And here come two of mouse\u2019s weaknesses- namely the weight and the fatigue concerns. You can always use the G602 with one battery and maximize your performance. Also, the DPI is not spectacular, which puts the mouse out of the way of first person shooters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Critical thinkers will inevitably put the question <strong>what makes the G602 is superior to mice that have both wired and wireless mode.<\/strong> The market is oversaturated with gaming peripherals, but if you are looking for a relatively <strong>inexpensive gaming mouse suitable for a wide range of genres<\/strong>, just take a shot. The G602 is a versatile, reliable, and offers consistent performance.
