This feature sets Corsair apart from others. It will make it easier to recharge the Dark Core RGB SE on almost any charging pad. Super convenient indeed, but is this feature sufficient to justify this mouse as a worthy investment? This will probably annoy gamers with a claw grip. I\nbet the reason for this design is to cater to the Qi charging components that\ncan be found in its rear. At 6.6 x 3.5 x 1.7 inches in size, you might also\nfind it too large if you have small hands as I do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/corsair-glaive-rgb\/\">Corsair Glaive\nRGB<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/corsair-scimitar-pro-rgb-gaming-mouse-review\/\">Scimitar\nPro RGB <\/a>are furnished with a minimalistic and soft-touch surface, the Dark\nCore is different. The top of this rodent is a combination of hard plastic and\nsoft-touch material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dark Core SE has a unique surface texture that makes it\nvery nice to the touch. The rubberized material covering the Dark Core makes\nit&#8217;s very comfortable for extended gaming sessions. I also noticed the slightly\nbumpy texture prevents slip better than Corsair&#8217;s earlier grip-focused mice,\nlike the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/corsair-m65-elite-review\/\">Corsair\nM65 Elite.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Features_And_Performance\">Features And Performance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Buttons\">Buttons<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"413\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/buttons-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/buttons-4.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/buttons-4-300x121.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/buttons-4-768x310.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Dark Core SE has 9 buttons in total, so it is an\nacceptable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/best-mmo-mice\/\">mouse for MMORPG\nplayers.<\/a> The two main buttons are tactile and crisp thanks to the Omron\nswitches. I encountered no difficulties during my testing. The two side buttons\nare separated by a sniper button that can function as a DPI switch when held\ndown. However, I couldn&#8217;t help but notice the back and forward button\npositioning. I feel that they are a little too much apart from each other to\nmake room for the sniper button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Underneath the mouse&#8217;s frame, there are two switches. The\nfirst one is a power switch you would be using when you don&#8217;t need the mouse. The\nother one toggles between the fast 1ms 2.4GHz wireless connection and Bluetooth,\nwhich is more convenient if you have a couch set-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Sensors\">Sensors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The market is filled with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/best-wireless-gaming-mice\/\">best wireless mouse<\/a> contenders. It is therefore no wonder that gamers are having a hard time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/gaming-mouse-buyers-guide\/\">picking a good responsive mouse.<\/a> The Dark Core SE is just that, despite the stigma that wireless mice have to bear. With the PMW3367 sensor under the hood, it has exceptional tracking on any optical-compatible surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a maximum 16,000 DPI, and 1,000Hz polling rate, the\nDark Core RGB SE feels just as responsive as a wired gaming mouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During my testing, I tried it on Final Fantasy XIV Online, and\nI was not disappointed. The extra buttons served me well. For some FPS action,\nand specifically to try that sniper button, I played <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/tom-clancys-the-division-2-epic-store-uplay-exclusive\/\">Tom\nClancy&#8217;s The Division 2<\/a>. I noticed no lags in tracking, my movements were\nfluid, and it was a jitter-free experience. The Corsair Dark Core RGB SE is a\ngreat weapon if you fancy being a \u2018virtual-gaming death reaper.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Balance_And_Weight\">Balance And Weight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This mouse might be heavy for some users at 128g, especially\nfor players used to lighter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/best-fps-mice\/\">FPS mice<\/a>\nlike the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/razer-mamba-hyperflux-review\/\">Razer\nMamba HyperFlux <\/a>or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/logitech-g-pro-wireless-mouse-review\/\">Logitech\nG Pro. <\/a>It\ndoes feel quite heavy in my hand and will take some time to get used to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Charging_And_Battery_Qi\">Charging And Battery (Qi)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dark Core RGB SE is advertised as able to run for over\n16hrs with standard lighting, and 24hrs with backlighting off. I tested this,\nof course, going for my Skyrim ft. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/lol-guide-to-season-9\/\">League of\nLegends <\/a>marathon. Though I did not really time it down to a second, the\nmere fact that I managed to play 2 gaming sessions for 2 days, is good enough\nfor me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The charging system for this rodent is different than the standard plug and play &#8211; it is wireless. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2ZvHH98\" target=\"_blank\">Logitech (Powerplay)<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2ZFDZd7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Razer (Firefly HyperFlux)<\/a> have a proprietary wireless charging system, whereas Corsair has decided to adopt the universal Qi standard. This means that you won&#8217;t have to buy a specialized mouse pad. However, I noticed that the MM1000 Qi delivers\nthis power in tiny portions, so charging your other devices will take longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Software_And_Lighting\">Software And Lighting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This mouse is compatible with Corsair&#8217;s iCUE software. This\nprogram will grant you control over the RGB lighting. The three configurable\nDPI sensitivity settings plus that of the sniper mode can also be personalized.\nIf you are a meticulous gamer that loves macro, you can also reassign mouse\nbuttons to other functions if it does not suit your style. I can say that it might be one of the best that I have used. If you are debating on whether to add this to your arsenal, you should consider the long battery life and pinpoint accuracy as just two of its best traits. The price\/value ratio proves it to be more cost-effective than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/logitech-g900-chaos-spectrum\/\">Logitech G903<\/a>, or the Razer Lancehead, while being on par with their quality and performance. The size and weight might turn off some gamers but it is nothing a few rounds of CS: GO can&#8217;t cure.
