minimalistic. It&#8217;s good looks\nwith no excessive flair. The plastic frame might cause concern to some. It does\nfeel sturdy enough to withstand a fair amount of abuse, but the material used gives\nout some cheap vibes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Size-wise, it doesn&#8217;t stand out awkwardly on my relatively\nsmall head. At 1.28lbs it doesn&#8217;t make me uncomfortable even if worn for\nextended periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I can&#8217;t help but get some pangs of nostalgia from the\nStealth 600&#8217;s design. It sure looks like a device coming from an older gaming\nera where oval-shaped ear cups and bright monochrome streaked designs were\nprevalent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This headset comes in versions compatible with PS4 and Xbox\nOne (both versions are compatible with PC), unlike the earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/turtle-beach-stealth-520-ps4-wireless\/\">Turtle\nBeach Stealth 520 <\/a>which was a PS4 exclusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Headband_and_Earcups\">Headband and Earcups<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"809\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/turtle-beach.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4694\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/turtle-beach.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/turtle-beach-300x237.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/turtle-beach-768x607.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The headband is adjustable so that you won&#8217;t have any trouble\nregardless of your head size. The Stealth 600&#8217;s headband has the iconic Turtle\nBeach wordmark stamped across the top part. On the underside, it is covered in\na thick fabric-wrapped foam cushion that is super soft and comfy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The outside of the ear cups is a matte black with the Turtle\nBeach logo. On the left ear cup, you can see the attached flip-up microphone.\nIt is also nicely padded for your convenience. I also like that the foam has\ntwo firmness levels to accommodate gamers who wear glasses. There is a softer\nfoam where eyeglass arms rest and the other parts have the same softness as the\nrest of the cushioned parts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Controls\">Controls<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"227\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/turtle-beach-stealth-600-folded-mic-227x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4692\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The controls of the Stealth 600 are fuss-free and fairly\neasy to use. I like how the flip-down mic gets conveniently muted when flipped\nup. The control buttons also have power and mode buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mode button is for the virtual surround sound mode; it also\ntoggles between a few different EQ presets (signature sound, bass boost, bass\nand treble boost, and vocal boost).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also one more power button function &#8211; the switch\nfor the &#8216;Superhuman hearing&#8217;. We will discuss it in the sound quality section.\nAdditional controls for volume and mic monitor volume dials are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Sound_Quality\">Sound Quality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Stealth 600\u2019s gaming audio performance is impressive and\ndefinitely adds to the immersion experience. I tested this headset on &#8216;Bloodborne&#8217;.\nWith its &#8216;Lovecraftian&#8217; inspiration, the soundtrack will get you in the zone.\nThankfully I was not disappointed because the virtual surround sound of the\nStealth 600 has helped me hear the world through the ears of \u2018The Hunter\u2019.\nThough it cannot stand up to the audio performance of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/astro-a40-tr-review\/\">ASTRO A40\nTR, <\/a>&nbsp;it still delivers, especially considering the reasonable\nprice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also tested the Stealth 600\u2019s 50mm audio drivers playing\nFPS games with more gunshots and explosions. During my Overwatch sessions, the\nTurtle Beach&#8217;s exclusive &#8216;Superhuman Hearing&#8217; has lived to its name. You can\nliterally hear everything, from footsteps to doors opening, it is amazing. This\nfeature essentially amplifies minuscule sounds to certain levels, so that\nfootsteps and weapon reload sounds are more intense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Connectivity\">Connectivity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum range of the Stealth 600 as advertised by Turtle\nBeach is 30 feet. When I first connected the headset, the wireless signal\nproved flawless. Connectivity with consoles was super easy.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realgear.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/xbox-one-wireless-adapter-for-pc-300x169-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4693\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"> Microsoft Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Sadly, this was not the case when I connected the headset to\na PC. If this is the\nfirst time connecting with the USB cord, it will require a firmware upgrade. It\nwill not be usable during that upgrade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Xbox headset version also requires an <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Xbox One Wireless Adapter (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/30elJrC\" target=\"_blank\">Xbox One Wireless Adapter<\/a> to be usable on PC. This is super-hassle and adds additional costs if you game on both Xbox and PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Battery_Life\">Battery Life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 can run for up to 15 hours on a\nsingle charge. I know how the prospect of your headset dropping dead all of a\nsudden is dreadful. It, however, did not fail me playing &#8216;Hitman: Absolution&#8217;\nfor a good week, a couple of hours every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Microphone_Quality\">Microphone Quality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Stealth 600&#8217;s microphone is functional, and that is all.\nI find the distance from the mouth annoyingly big. As a result, the voice\npickup is not that good. During my &#8216;Discord&#8217; session with the squad, they said\nmy speech was understandable, but the audio sounded unrefined. Sure, it is\nenough for multiplayer voice chat, but aside from that, it is not that good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Stealth__Alternatives\">Stealth 600 Alternatives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Final_Verdict\">Final Verdict<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Turtle Beach Stealth 600 is a gaming headset that is quite\ngood at its job. The audio quality is on point, crisp and immersive. Wireless\nconnectivity is lag free, and battery life is decent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are some drawbacks to consider. The plastic build, to\nbe honest, feels cheap. The material choice could be better. Also, the lack of\ncross-platform compatibility raises some concerns. There are versions for the\nmajor consoles, but those who game on multiple platforms would not be the\ntarget audience.
