The Japanese electronics company Elecom released a press statement containing information about the latest peripherals in its gaming line-up. In the middle of July, gamers will be able to put their hands on the HUGE gaming mice. Elecom will release a wired and wireless version of the mouse.
What makes the HUGE mice stand out from the rest is the presence of a huge red ball, reminding of the times when laser mice were yet to flood the market. Despite the retro accents, the HUGE mice are equipped with the latest technological advancements that give players an edge over the competition.
Apart from the connectivity differences, both mice feature exactly the same technical specs. They possess Omron switches and offer a DPI of up to 1500. The max DPI can be reached in 3 increments – 500, 1000 and 1500, respectively. The optical sensor is promoted as delivering “ultimate pointer tracking performance”.
Elecom also announced that mice developers have carefully analyzed the ball coating. The ball itself is removable so that the cleaning process is optimized. As for the right ball itself, its diameter is 52mm. Therefore, players can use either the pointing finger or the middle finger to navigate through games and web pages. The mice possess 10 buttons each. They are customizable via the Elecom software.
The wireless model uses the 2.4GHz band for the wireless system. The power switch on the back prevents battery draining when the mouse is not it use. The wireless HUGE mouse requires AA batteries. Low battery indicator is also available. Both the corded and the cordless versions are compatible with Mac OS Sierra 10.12 and Windows XP/ 7/8/10.
The upcoming release of the HUGE gaming mice is yet another indication of the retro gaming gear revival. As reported earlier, the pioneer Atari is to release a new console. Hyperkin gaming mouse is to be launched on July 6th. Polymega is also expected to roll out a retro gaming console at some point in future.
