Acer is among the notable IFA 2017 attendees and while the introduction of new desktops and monitors comes as no surprise, the hardware giant made yet another step towards demonstrating its commitment to providing gamers with versatile high-end peripherals. Acer has added the Galea 500 headset and the Cestus 500 mouse to its Predator gaming line-up.
Acer Predator Galea 500 Gaming Headset
The Galea 500 gaming headset is a new generation device, suitable for pro gamers. Its biggest selling point is the so-called TrueHarmony 3D Soundscape technology. The latter enables users to have an immersive gaming experience, as it “convinces” the brain that sound is coming from a fixed direction. The headset has a built-in 3D sound card and when the user turns towards the sound, it changes accordingly.
The Predator Galea 500 supports 7.1 virtual surround and features a retractable uni-directional mic. The headset also enables players to switch between three modes – EQ Music, Sport, and Movie, respectively.
Acer Predator Cestus 500 Gaming Mouse
Cestus 500 gaming mouse has an incectoid-like design and comes with a unique adjustable resistance feature. The dual switches in the main buttons enable players to choose between two force levels for click actuation so that it corresponds to the genre they prefer. For instance, fans of FPS will like the reduced resistance, while RTS players will opt for an added resistance.
The mouse has an ambidextrous shape and offers up to 7,200 DPI. The other noteworthy features are the RGB LED lighting, the 8 programmable buttons, as well as the 5 profiles for onboard storage.
Pricing and Availability
Both peripherals are slated for November release. When launched, the Acer Predator Galea 500 headset will cost $299.99/€299.99. The Cestus 500 gaming mouse will arrive with a $89.99/ €89.99 price tag.
