Good music, great design
Audio devices market is overwhelming today, and quality Bluetooth headphones are hard to score. Singling out the one set to match your preferences could be a frustrating task. But it doesn’t end there. You toss your budget in the mix, and the selection process becomes even harder.
You don’t have the time, resources, and nerve to try them all. Understandable, and I know it. Good news is I’ve done it for you. Why? Because like you, I’m always on the prowl for a budget headset that doesn’t compromise quality. Does Boltune BT-BH010 make the cut? Let’s find out.
Build and design
The Boltune BT-BH010 headphones look handsome at first glance. Pure black complements the rather minimalistic design. Aesthetics are essential, and Boltune manages a classy feel without looking extra.
These headphones are compact. With a weight of 9.9 ounces, they won’t give your head unnecessary pressure when worn for longer hours. However, the plastic build looks cheap upon closer inspection. Though it doesn’t bend too easily, the material used might be a turn-off to some.
Headband and Earcups
BT-BH010 headband is padded well, I felt no discomfort during my testing, and it doesn’t constrict my head. On the sides, there are notches that you can use to adjust the fit.
The ear padding is soft and doesn’t get hot when used for a long time. The pads also prevent sound leaking, so no more unintentional playlist sharing. Boltune BT-BH010 snugs well on my ears. The swiveling cups are very convenient and can be tucked when not in use.
Like with most wireless headphones, the controls of the BT-BH010 are located on the earcups. Buttons are crisp and very easy to memorize. They come with standard control buttons such as power, active noise canceling, volume, pause/play, and next/previous track.
The Boltune BT-BH010 audio performance exceeded my expectations, and for only a fraction of the price of the top audio brands. The sound quality was a pleasant surprise to me.
During my testing, these headphones produced a fair amount of bass. Tones are clear, and mids are discernable. True-blood audiophiles will not get their fix from these headphones. Though the sound is good, it lacks the certain thump and tone range that top tier devices have.
The BT-BH010’s active noise canceling worked surprisingly well with lower frequencies. I noticed that my AC’s hum is almost gone, though you can still hear car horns and sirens blaring, those sounds are remarkably toned down.
I also observed that it doesn’t affect music quality as much as other devices in this price range.
Connectivity and Battery
The effective range of BT-BH010, according to Boltune, is up to 66ft. It’s convenient for gym goers who can’t get hyped without good music on. I did not really test the 66ft claim. I did use it in the kitchen with my phone docked in the living room. My moving around did not affect the sound quality at all.
The Boltune BT-BH010 has an impressive 30-hour playtime. That means you can jam with your playlist for a long time. Charging will only take less than an hour. If you are in a hurry, a 5-minute charge will give more than 2 hours of usage.
The call quality of the BT-BH010 falls short. During testing, the person on the other end of the line said that my voice echoed a little. My friend could still understand what I was saying, but this issue might be bothersome to other users.
The Boltune BT-BH010 is a great headset great in its league. Its ANC capabilities make it a smart choice for those who desire peace and quietness during travels. Audio performance and comfort are decent, yet this unit doesn’t really stray much from its price range. So, if you are after an affordable pair of headphones for your workout sessions, and commute – the BT-BH010 will do the trick.
