At a press conference held during the E3 Expo, Activision has finally shed light on the release dates of Destiny 2. The PC version of the long-anticipated title was expected to arrive after the console versions. Activision representatives announced that the initial dates have changed a little bit and confirmed the release schedule of the game.
Destiny 2 will be released for PC on October 24th. It will be available for play on Xbox One and PS4 on September 6th. The console versions already have BETA versions. As for the PC mode, it will also get a beta version but the release date is yet to be specified. To wrap up, these are the dates when players have to expect Destiny 2 releases:
- PS4 Pre-Order BETA: July 18th
- Xbox One Pre-Order BETA- July 19th
- Open BETA for consoles: July 21st
- Console BETA end date: July 23rd
- PC BETA launch: Late August
- Destiny 2 console launch: September 6th
- Destiny 2 PC launch- October 24th
During the press conference at the E3 Expo event, the official Destiny 2 trailer was brought to players’ attention. In addition, it became clear that special items will be available for the PS4 version only. Some of these include a multiplayer map, co-op strike, armor sets, and a sniper rifle. The new content will be on PS4 until Fall 2018.
Destiny 2 is among the most ambitious Blizzard- Activision projects. PC players seem impatient to put hands on the game. Activision reassured that the PC version will be worth the wait. It will support higher resolutions and framerates. In addition, it will operate off the Battle.net platform.
At the time of writing, a PC beta version is unavailable for pre-order. Destiny 2 BETA versions for consoles are available, though. Players can choose between Digital Deluxe Edition, Digital Standard Edition, Game + Expansion Pass, Expansion Pass, Limited Edition, Collector’s Edition.
