One of the most popular Overwatch Contender teams, Laser Kittenz has entered into a partnership agreement with JetSmarter. The latter is known as the “Uber for private jets”.
According to the clauses, the partnership agreement contains, Laser Kittenz’ players and staff will get annual corporate membership status for the JetSmarter mobile app charter service. They will gain access to the 35,000 hours of private jet flights. The JetSmarter app enables members to browse through more than 3,000 airplanes and book a flight to more than 50 routes across the United States, Middle East, and Europe.
JetSmarter has undergone a rapid development over the last two years. The Series C funding round led by the rapper Jay Z as well as the investment of the Saudi royal family has immensely increased its market value. Other than that, JetSmarter has worked with international celebrities- Kim Kardashian, Rick Ross, the NBA player Kevin Durant to name a few.
As for Laser Kittenz, the partnership with JetSmarter is of critical importance. The team reunited a few months ago, in March 2017, to be precise. The Overwatch League is approaching, but major organizations such as Team Dignitas, Fnatic, TSM and Ninjas in Pyjamas opted out of the event. Consequently, the opportunities for a return of the costs for maintenance of a competitive Overwatch roster become too scarce.
However, e-sports industry analysts read between the lines and claim that the partnership with JetSmarter stretches beyond covering Laser Kittenz’ expenses. The team does not hide its ambitions for outgrowing the development league. However, the league slots’ cost reaches the breathtaking $15 million in certain areas. In this respect, the partnership with JetSmarter is a godsend. In addition, Laser Kittenz’ CEO and founder Ali “Alicus” Saba, has also hinted about expansion into other games such as the League of Legends.
The team is now stacked with talent. At the beginning of June, Laser Kittenz’ roster got a new addition. The team now consists of eight players – Tiago “mowzassa” Rodrigues, the latest team addition, Nicholas “skipjack” Rosada, Finley “Kyb” Adisi, Beuon “Munchkin” Sang-Beom, Ivo “Linepro” Krasimirov, Luis “Greyy” Perestrelo, Carl “crems” Aspehult, and Lee “claris” Keon-Ho.
