In a press release, published earlier today, the video game publisher Konami announced that the Metal Gear Survive will be launched across Xbox One and PS4 consoles on February 20, 2018, in North America. Europe-based players will be able to put hands on the game two days later, on February 22nd.

The press release was followed by a Tweet revealing more details about the highly-anticipated title. Players who pre-order the game will get some sweet incentives including “happy” and “thumbs up” emote gestures, four gold-plated weapons, kabuki-style face paint, four metallic survival scarves, a Mothers Base nameplate, as well as a Boxman. The latter is a special accessory that serves as a throwback to The Orange cardboard box players know from the Metal Gear Solid game. Konami confirmed that the same pre-order rewards are applicable to the PC version that is coming to Steam.

The Metal Gear Survive release was originally planned for 2017 but the launch was put off until 2018 as the development team needed some more time to polish the game. It will be the first title released after the departure of the series creator Hideo Kojima. The game plot is set in an alternate reality and players face the challenge of dealing with a huge number of zombies. In addition, the Metal Gear Solid 5 follow-up features a cooperative multiplayer component.

When launched, the Metal Gear Survive will cost $39.99.
