Doomfist release has long been a dominant topic in Overwatch forums. Now, the latest Overwatch patch (un)intentionally hinted at an eventual Doomfist arrival. The debut of the new character is expected to coincide with the start of the Summer Games Event 2017.
Data miners have discovered a code from the Overwatch game files that fueled the beliefs that Doomfist’s release is just around the corner. At the time of publishing, Blizzard Entertainment has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors. However, the release of the latest 1.13 patch gives fans a better idea as to what to expect in the foreseeable future.
The patch is available in the Public Test Realm so players have access to the upcoming events. That is how some avid Overwatch fans came to the conclusion that one of the most anticipated game characters would arrive soon.
Whenever Overwatch crashes, players automatically get a crash log, containing information about the crash. However, the crash log from patch 1.13 reads “Overwatch – 1.3.3.0.0 Doomfist/ Summer Games”.
Overwatch fans have immediately shared their discovery across social media and gaming forums. Some of them believe that Blizzard has made a mistake during the internal testing. On the other hand, critical thinkers assumed that the so-called leak was intentional and Blizzard was trying to maintain the hype. Players also reminded about Sombra and the confusing clues Blizzard has been grinding prior to hero’s release.
Expectations are Blizzard to publish a teaser about Doomfist anytime now.
Up to now, the information about Doomfist remains scarce. Blizzard representatives are reluctant to announce whether Doomfist will be a villain or a hero. Also, it is still unknown who will voice be the voice behind Doomfist. Overwatch community members suggest that it will be Terry Crews. The actor has publicly confirmed his interest in voicing the next Overwatch character.
Stay tuned and expect the RealGear team to inform you immediately if Blizzard ends the above-mentioned uncertainties.
