In an announcement published on the official PUBG forums, the Assistant Community Manager “PUBG_Sly” revealed that PUBG Corp. was going to donate $2 million to charitable organizations.

The amount slated for donation has been generated through the Gamescom Crate Key sales. Back in August 2017, PUBG developers announced that the Bluehole megahit would have loot boxes. They reassured the community that the funds will be allocated for awarding the PUBG Gamescom Tournament winners as well as supporting charitable causes.

The first two organizations to receive PUBG’s financial backing will be Extra Life and Gamers Outreach. The fundraising campaign for Gamers Outreach is scheduled for the end of April 2018 when the “Gamers for Giving 2018 LAN Tournament” will take place.

“PUBG_Sly” shared details about the upcoming charity marathon on the PUBG Twitch Channel in support of Extra Life. The latter is an organization that raises money for sick kids in the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital System.

The Twitch event will run from January 28th, 11 pm CT through February 2nd, 10:59 pm CT. Twitch members will be able to support their favorite PUBG streamers by making a donation. PUBG officials will match every donated dollar (max $300,000). Those who cannot make a donation through Twitch, can visit the Extra Life fundraising page.
